Stray Kids’ Hyunjin Reveals Scary Way He Got Cast Into JYP Entertainment

He was suspicious right from the start.

On an episode of Mnet‘s TMI News, Stray KidsHyunjin shared the story of how he became a JYP Entertainment trainee.

Hyunjin said he’d been lucky because he was approached on the street by a company employee. How it happened wasn’t quite as “lucky” as it sounds.

When asked for specifics by one of the hosts, Hyunjin said it happened while he was shopping with his mother. Someone then suddenly grabbed his wrist.

Since he hadn’t known the person and was startled by them, he asked who they were and if he could help them. In response, the man gave Hyunjin a card with JYP Entertainment listed on it.

Someone grabbed my wrist, so I was like, ‘Who are you?!’

Already suspicious of the man, Hyunjin thought he was a fraud and decided to look up his name on the internet.

I thought he was a fraud. I got suspicious.

It turned out that the man hadn’t been lying. Hyunjin then went to the audition, followed by 2-3 years of training after passing it.

Being approached by a stranger can be scary enough; being grabbed by a stranger without any warning can be even more frightening. No wonder Hyunjin was weary about the situation, but look at where he is now. Listen to Hyunjin tell the story here.
