The mission, which is expected to launch in 2023, will become the first attempt to return to the moon in 50 years. The last time a man landed on Mars was in 1972 during the final Apollo mission.

Yusaku Maezawa explained that he wants to travel to the moon to inspire humanity, and he plans on taking multiple artists with him on his exclusive trip!

“Ever since I was a kid, I have loved the moon. It’s always there and continues to inspire humanity. I choose to go to the moon with artists. In 2023, as the host, I would like to invite 6 to 8 artists from around the world to join me on this mission to the Moon.”

Meanwhile, Elon Musk has made it clear that things were still uncertain about the mission and that it could be dangerous.

“To be clear. This is dangerous…it’s not a sure thing…there are some changes things could go wrong.”
