When tvN and Netflix released K-Drama Vincenzo, its unique story captivated viewers as it followed a Korean guy, portrayed by Song Joong Ki, adopted into an Italian family. He was renamed “Vincenzo Cassano” and grew up to become a consigliere for the mafia.
While many never imagined that such a story could be true, we may have just discovered the IRL Vincenzo…
Gab(agool) (@gabbinggab on TikTok) shared a video of her brother. The video has since gone viral with 1.4 million views and 233.9K likes as of January 20, 2022, six days after it was posted.
The video highlights her family, based in Long Island, New York, specifically her brother, Peter, who is adopted from South Korea. Yet, he’s connected to his adopted family’s Italian culture. Sound familiar?
In the video, he is seen singing and dancing to Lou Monte‘s “Luna Mezzo Mare.” This, of course, proves her point as he sings along in Italian!
Gab(agool) captioned the video, “Super relatable to y’all I assume, right?” Despite being meant as a joke, several netizens responded, saying they could actually relate to their family’s story.
Some Italians commented, declaring that they 100% claim Peter. It’s official; he’s Korean Italian American.
However, the overwhelming majority of comments contained this word: Vincenzo. There’s no denying that Peter sounded a lot like this iconic character (hopefully without all the trauma).
While Gab(agool) has been posting a variety of content on TikTok for a while, this video is her first truly viral video. So, she has delivered more videos featuring Peter, knowing it’s what the audience wants.
