Former “Heart Signal” Cast Member Gets Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison for Sexual Assault

The sexual assault reportedly took place during the filming of “Heart Signal”.

Kang Sung Wook, who swayed the hearts of many viewers on Channel A’s Heart Signal, was sentenced to 5 years in prison for sexual assault.

According to MBN News 8‘s report, Kang Sung Wook forcefully took a waitress from a bar in Busan to a friend’s house and committed sexual assault.

Following the crime, Kang Sung Wook claimed that the woman was a “gold digger”, but the court stated, “The victim’s testimony is consistent and there is no evidence that she tried to get his money” and sentenced him to 5 years in prison.

It’s been reported that Kang Sung Wook expressed his disagreement and filed for an appeal.

The reported time of the incident overlaps with when Kang Sung Wook starred on Channel A’s Heart Signal.

Following his success on the reality TV show, he became an active musical actor in various theatrical works and even appeared on KBS’s Marry Me Now back in 2018.
