(G)I-DLE’s Miyeon Is Setting Records With Her Solo Debut Album “MY”

Let’s fly even higher, Miyeon!

(G)I-DLE‘s Miyeon had her solo debut a little over a week ago, and she’s already setting records. Miyeon is the first soloist from Cube Entertainment to sell over 100,000 copies with one album.

Furthermore, she joins MAMAMOO‘s Moonbyul and Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon as the only female solo artists to have over 100,000 album sales on Hanteo, Korea’s biggest album sale site, for 2022.

To top it all off, her album MY only has one version, as opposed to the typical production where artists have multiple versions of one album to sell. 100,000 copies sold for one album, with one version, and it’s her debut album? And it’s only been nine days? Right from the start Miyeon is flying high, and we know that she’ll only fly higher in the future.

Besides album sales, Miyeon’s title track “Drive” immediately reached No. 1 on Bug’s real-time music charts in Korea on April 27th and the album charted worldwide on iTunes, debuting at #2 on Worldwide iTunes Album Chart and peaking at #1 in 23 countries. Congratulations Miyeon!
