BTS Announces ARMY Bomb Light Stick Will Sync With “BANG BANG CON” Online Concert From Your Own Home

Now it will feel like a *real* BTS concert.

With Map of the Soul tour dates being postponed across the world, ARMYs have been worrying that it might be a long time before they get the chance to wave their light sticks—not to mention those ARMYs who can’t afford tickets. But now, with BTS’s online concert weekend BANG BANG CON coming up, you’ll finally be able to put your ARMY Bomb to good use.

On April 10, Big Hit Entertainment announced they’d be streaming not one, not two, but eight BTS concerts for free next weekend. Airing on April 18 and April 19, the BANG BANG CON online concert event aims to keep ARMYs spirits up during coronavirus (COVID-19) isolation.

In a new update, BTS’s official social media accounts confirmed the streaming lineup for BANG BANG CON and announced an exciting small print that you might have missed: your ARMY Bomb light stick will be synchronized with all 8 concerts!

Typically, when you attend a BTS concert, your ARMY Bomb will be linked to the venue’s Bluetooth system. This allows concert staff to change the color and blink speed of your light stick to match each performance. It’s been used for years now with some pretty incredible results, including awesome seat synchronization.

Now, you’ll be able to get the same experience from the comfort of your own home. When you watch BANG BANG CON, your light stick will link with your smartphone, which can control the lighting effects in real time.

To activate it, all you need to do is watch BANG BANG CON from the Media tab on the Weverse app. Don’t worry if you were planning on streaming the concert from YouTube on your laptop or TV—just pair your light stick via Weverse on your phone at the same time.

Of course, even if you don’t have an ARMY Bomb, the concert will still give you plenty to enjoy. One savvy fan has even recommended a phone app that replicates the light stick experience (thought it won’t sync to Weverse, of course).
