K-Pop idols are known for their talent, style, and beauty. In an idol group, there is often a member assigned as the “visual” of the group. While there are an endless number of stunning K-Pop idols, here are a few of the top “visual” girl group idols.

1. S.E.S’s Eugene

S.E.S debuted as SM Entertainment‘s first girl group in 1997 after the massive success of the company’s first boy group, H.O.T. The trio consisted of members Bada, Eugene, and Shoo. Eugene was known for her beauty and was scouted at an airport by SM Entertainment‘s founder Lee Soo Man.

S.E.S disbanded in 2002 and Eugene continued her career as a successful actress. She most recently starred in Penthouse: War in Life.

2. Fin K.L’s Lee Hyori

Lee Hyori debuted as a member of Fin.K.L in 1998 alongside fellow members Ock Joohyun, Sung Yuri, and Lee Jin. The group became massively popular, often competing with S.E.S.

Lee Hyori had her solo debut in 2003 with her album Stylish which won the singer multiple awards at the year-end award shows. Fin.K.L disbanded in 2005 and Lee Hyori has continued with her successful solo career. She has also appeared in project groups such as Refund Sisters and SSAK3.

She is currently hosting a reality show called Seoul Check In. In the show, Hyori travels from her home in Jeju to Seoul to visit with friends and visit popular spots around the country’s capital.

3. Baby V.O.X’s Kan Miyoun

Baby V.O.X debuted in 1997 with five members. After an onstage injury, member Cha Yumi left the group and Kan Miyoun took her place. Kan Miyoun was nicknamed the “princess” of the group and remained a member until 2006 when she pursued a solo career.

Kan Miyoun focused her promotions in China during her solo career, becoming a successful artist in the Chinese entertainment industry. When she returned to Korea, she continued releasing music and has most recently appeared as a cast member on the SBS variety show Goal Girl in 2021.

4. Girls’ Generation’s Yoona

Girls’ Generation debuted as a second generation group in 2007. They were SM Entertainment‘s third girl group after S.E.S and The Grace. The group saw their popularity sky-rocket with the release of the 2009 single, “Gee.”

Yoona was named the group’s center and gained popularity for her gorgeous looks, receiving the nickname “Nation’s Ideal Type.” 

The idol has had a successful acting career, starring in dramas such as Love Rain and The King In Love. She will also star in King The Land with 2PM‘s Junho, set to be released this year.

5. 2NE1’s Dara

Before debuting in Korea, Dara had a successful career in the Philippines where she appeared on a talent show and then became a singer and actress. After Dara returned to Korea, she made her debut in 2NE1.

Dara gained the nickname “vampire” for her forever youthful looks. Since 2NE1’s disbandment in 2016, the idol has made many appearances on variety shows and had a role in the popular 2018 film Cheese in the Trap.

6. Miss A’s Suzy

JYP Entertainment‘s second girl group, Miss A, debuted in 2010 with “Bad Girl Good Girl.” The song was a massive success, hitting the top of the charts. Suzy debuted at the young age of 15 and the world has watched her grow up. Suzy became lovingly known as the “nation’s first love” for her beauty and charm.

Suzy has had many popular tv and film roles throughout her career and recently returned to music for the first time in four years with her single, “Satellite.”

7. Red Velvet’s Irene

This third generation group debuted in 2014 with four of its members with the song “Happiness.” Before their debut, Irene was part of SM Rookies along with Red Velvet members Seulgi, Wendy, and Yeri. SM Rookies was a pre-debut team of trainees and Irene quickly gained interest for her stunning visuals. Once she debuted, she scored multiple promotional deals with major companies, earning the nickname “CF Queen.”

Irene has been a host of music shows and had the lead role in the film Double Patty in 2021.

8. TWICE’s Tzuyu

TWICE‘s members were selected through the competition reality show, Sixteen, in 2015. TWICE was voted the girl group with the best overall visuals on theqoo.net by netizens in 2021. Member Tzuyu became known for her striking beauty and has received several endorsement deals.

9. BLACKPINK’s Jisoo

Jisoo joined YG Entertainment in 2011 and debuted with BLACKPINK in 2016. Before their debut, the members had a lot of hype as they showcased their talent and beauty in pre-debut videos and photos.

Jisoo was named the visual of the group and has also ventured into acting. She had her first lead role in the drama Snowdrop in 2021.

10. ITZY’s Yuna

Fourth generation group ITZY debuted with “DALLA DALLA” in 2019. The group was JYP Entertainment‘s newest girl group since senior group TWICE.

Yuna was scouted by JYP Entertainment when she was attending a concert and was named ITZY’s visual member upon her debut.

aespa debuted as SM Entertainment‘s newest girl group in 2020. Karina was a former ulzzang and starred in SHINee‘s Taemin‘s “Want” music video before her debut.

12. IVE’s Wonyoung

IVE‘s Wonyoung captured interest for her visuals as a contestant on the competition reality show Produce 48. She was a winning contestant which granted her a chance to debut in IZ*ONE as their center member in 2018.

IZ*ONE officially disbanded at the end of their contract in April 2021. Later that year, Wonyoung debuted in the six-member girl group IVE alongside former IZ*ONE member Yujin. She is currently the host of Music Bank with ENHYPHEN‘s Sunghoon.
